Information for Presenters

A few notes for those accepted to do oral talks:

The Detailed Program on the website/app will have the most up to date schedule for ORAL talks. Once the app goes live, it will carry the most up-to-date schedule for the entire conference program.

To simplify session flow, all presentation files for talks must be loaded onto the conference computers. The venue recommends using a 16:9 slide format (1920´1080 pixel resolution). Using the older 4:3 format may cause some issues. Also, non-standard fonts may not translate if they are not installed on the presenting machine. If you plan to use Prezi, Mentimeter, Slido or other platforms please notify us (wda2026).

You will need to hand over a memory stick or load your talk NO LATER than the morning you are due to present before 8:15 am. Please do not plan on loading your talk during coffee breaks or lunch breaks on the day you are presenting. Volunteers coordinating the day’s sessions will be busy with other activities during those times. For example, if you are presenting at 1 pm on Monday, please load your talk on Sunday or before 8:15 am on Monday. Unless you are a keynote speaker or award winner, your talk is 10-12 min long with 2-4 min allowed for questions.

We need to allow ~1 min between talks to change presentations and introduce speakers. Please plan your talks accordingly – most sessions will be concurrent and attendees will be switching rooms to hear talks at specified times.

A few notes for those accepted to present posters:

All posters (general and student; n~170) will be on display Monday afternoon through Friday morning. The idea is to maximize the opportunity for all poster presenters in attendance to share their work with those interested.

All poster sessions will be in Carson Hall Salon B during coffee breaks. Visit the Detailed Program for a list of coffee breaks and associated poster sessions. All presenters can hang their posters on Monday after the first break and preferably before the afternoon break. Other details on sessions will be in the Detailed Program.

Those students who are in the Poster Competition will receive specific instructions from the Student Awards Committee chair about when they should expect to stand by their posters to speak to judges, but in short you should plan to stand by your poster sometime on Tuesday. General program poster presenters will be assigned a preferred presentation session, but are free to stand by their poster on any of the conference days except Tuesday. All posters should be removed by Friday at the conclusion of the scientific session.

Please use A0 paper sizing for your poster (841 × 1189 millimeters or 33.11 × 46.81 inches; see link). Your poster cannot be larger than 4 ft X 4 ft (1.2 m X 1.2 m). The poster layout can be customized to best present your findings.

We will have thumbtacks, but it’s OK if you want to bring your own or have alternative ideas for hanging your poster.
